TOUR KOREA WITH 'GOH TRAVEL KOREA'!!
It's only been little over a month since we've been back from our trip to the States, but it already feels like ages ago. My friend and I wanted to go away for a stress free weekend since both of us have 3 kids and are working moms. We also wanted a little adventure and explore parts of Korea that we haven't been before. Something unique, fun, but stress free. 😅 That's when I found Goh Travel Korea online and booked a trip that included basically everything from transportation, lodging, excursions, and food. We were picked up from a designated spot and as soon as we got on the bus, our trip started. Whether you are visiting Korea, a foreigner working here, or a mom like me that wants to explore more of Korea but don't know where to start or have no time to plan, I highly recommend this tour company, Goh Travel Korea.
Before I go into our trip, here are some things you should consider before booking a trip with a tour company. I had three criteria for booking a trip. 1. Budget friendly 2. Exploring new places and 3. Stress free planning and booking, and I must say Goh Travel Korea met all these expectations. Things you should not expect is high end lodging and amazing food for the price you are paying. There was no bed in our room, only a thin blanket and a pillow, and the food is a basic home cooked Korean meal with rice and banchan. And depending on where you are going, you could be stuck on the bus for a while, since most likely you will hit weekend traffic. You should have about 2-3 hours of buffer arrival time. Therefore, I do not recommend this tour for families with young children because of long rides on the bus and busy schedule. What I didn't expect, but was pleasantly surprised by was meeting and traveling with people from all over the world! Just in our group, there was a family from Israel, people from all over Europe, Columbia, Costa Rica, South Africa, USA, and Canada. I've never been anywhere where such a diverse group of people gathered for one purpose except at the Olympics! Even then, I didn't interact with others since I was with my family. 😆 Overall, if you are looking for an adventure, check out Goh Travel Korea that has amazing deals!
The trip we picked was Green Tea Plantation, Bamboo Forest, Wetland, and Folk Village in Jeollanamdo. We arrived at the Bamboo Forest, ate lunch and had two hours of free time to walk around.
*Don't miss the cafe and art gallery!
I was so happy I could go through the space for average people in their 20's. 😅
Then, we drove to Wetland and had about two hours there. After dinner, we finally arrived to our guest house in Naganeupseong Folk Village of Joseon. By the time we arrived, it was dark, so we couldn't see much, but I knew I was going to love it. After we checked into our rooms, we went out to gather for some drinks and snacks with fellow travelers. It was good time to get to know each other better and wind down after a long day of traveling.
*Oh yeah, and I almost got attacked by a giant crab! 😲
We took a walk the next morning around the village and for me, this was the highlight of this trip! The hay rooftops, smoke coming out of the chimneys, the morning fog, the mountain background, and sunrise all together made a spectacular view. 180 people still live in the village and it was the most charming place I've ever been to. We had breakfast at our guest house and got on the bus to visit Green Tea Plantation. I really wished we had more time at the village. I left thinking I am going to come back with my family here one day!
Another highlight of this trip was visiting BoHyang Organic Green Tea Farm. They offer various educational and hands on activities you can try. First, we walked around the farm to pick the tea leaves, then went to a tea house to learn about Korean tea drinking etiquette and tried tasting the tea, then we went to a lab to make our own Korean traditional tea all taught by the owner and 5th generation tea master and his wife! Overall, it was an educational and fun experience! All of us ended up buying lots of tea products and got on the bus full of shopping bags. 😆
*Did you know, green tea can help you loose weight, have younger looking skin, fight certain cancer, and improve your brain function? More green tea for us, please!
After a wonderful time at the BoHyung Organic Green Tea Farm, we headed out to our final destination on our itinerary, Daehan Dawon Green Tea Plantation. I've seen lot of pictures of this place, but when I saw it with my own eyes, it was better than I imagined it to be. It was absolutely breathtaking.
*Make sure to try green tea ice-cream!
Overall, I had a great time touring Jellanamdo! I was dead tired on Monday, but I had the urge to sign up for another trip. Who wants to join me next!
*Complimentary tickets were received for this post.
